Welcome to the Warwick Library

Our library serves over 920 students and contains over 22,000 volumes. We also have 6 desktops and 15 chromebooks for student use.  Students come with their class every week for 30 minutes. Children check out up to 3 books, depending on their grade level.  Parents, too, can check out, and are welcome to come after school or when I do not have a class. Our school has one of the largest collections in the district.

Checkouts:

Students-

Grade K: 1 book

1st Grade :2 books

2nd -6th Grade : 3 books

Parents-

10 books due in 2 weeks.

Books are due back weekly but may be renewed up to three times.

Online Catalog (Destiny):

Warwick Online Catalog

Warwick's online catalog can be accessed from school or home.  It will then bring up all books in our library pertaining to your search and will tell you whether they are in "stacks" (on the shelf), or checked out.

Bookfair:

We have one Scholastic Bookfair in the fall. The money raised from the fair is used to purchase books and supplies for the library. The state has cut school library funding drastically in recent years and is less than $1 per student. Therefore, the majority of our funding comes from bookfair profit. Note: Bookfair cancelled for Fall 2020.

 Wizard Birthday Bookclub:

This is a wonderful way to celebrate your child's
birthday while helping to increase library resources for all students. Money is donated in the child's name, and book(s) are purchased with a bookplate put inside with the child's name. Forms are sent out in the September, and available year around from the library.

California Young Readers

 medal

This is a book award that is chosen by the students of California. The California Library Association reviews many books over a years period and several are selected in various age categories. Participating schools can then read the books to the students , who after hearing all the stories, vote on their favorite book. The results are sent in and the winners announced later in the year. Warwick's students in grades 1-3 participate in early spring.

In early spring we celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday by participating in Read Across America.
